I was looking at the christmas
party picture for OVT that was held at John and Patti Bakers home
in Pleasant Plain. I also came across and Thanksgiving note I written..
It seemed appropriate to combine the two,
because those folks are so nice and kind, especially to new bus
people just getting their *legs*...anyway it seemed prudent so
here they are:
I'm not an American and wasn't lucky enough to be brought up with Thanksgiving as a holiday (the closest we have is boxing day instead on Dec 26th). But over the year of living amongst you I've been subjected to many of them, all different, all wonderful. I have a lot to be thankful for really. My mind is mostly here, my old body isn't too rusty and my spirit is intact.
We all drive Volkswagens that mostly work.. (Bless 'um!!) and most of us smile at the little quirks that have that makes each Bus or bug unique.
- ~~I'm thankful for my VW-Bus, because Sunny lets me see life in a whole new way.
- I'm thankful for the way people smile at her and how perfect strangers come and talk about their VW memories.
- I'm thankful for the Campouts she has transported me to and for the folks there that have turned into extended family.
- I thank her for being there to let me sit and meditate in her in peace when life gets hectic.
- I'm thankful for the freedom she offers me everyday to go and explore my environment. (Daily driver), to a new park, a new book store maybe.
- I thank her for teaching me older is better and special :)
- I thank Sunny for letting me know the TRIBE… A mix of fun, crazy very special people. THANK YOU!!
- For the generous ones... with hearts as big as sunflowers, and smiles as bright as their blossoms.
- For the feisty friends as tart as apples, as fun as crayons.
- For the invisible friends who are in this cyber-world with helpful words of wisdom..
- For funny friends, who make me smile when life is bleak or crazy. TY!!
- For the serious ones, who offer a different kind of wisdom.
- For friends old and new, weird and wonderful.
- For loving friends, who wind around us like tendrils and hold us high in the sun when we need warmth..
And, finally...
- For those friends we've lost along the way......We hope you're planted in a garden of peace and VW parts.
I just wanted to say Thank you to you all for letting me be part of your lives.
Happy Thanksgiving Tribers.. Kai and Sunny
